Cronus PRO v1.20 BETA 10

Written by News on . Posted in CronusMAX News, News

We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and great time over the holidays. It may have seemed a little quiet at CronusMAX HQ but there’s been quite a lot of development work going on behind the scenes in preparation for the new year. We hope to share lot’s of goodies with you over the coming months!

Today, we’re releasing a new version of the Cronus PRO BETA which has had many updates and fixes. We feel this is very close now to a release candidate so if you are running v1.12 we recommend you give this version a go.

This new version is also rid of the C++ 2010/2015 dependency (we no longer need C++) which, as a result should lead to less issues for people running Cronus PRO on a new PC (some of you may have had problems starting Cronus PRO without manually installing the C++ 2015 Redistributable x86 package). This is no longer going to be an issue.

While we re-wrote the compiler we also added several new features to it, mainly to make it easier for those familiar with programming in other languages such as C, C++, C# etc. to have things they’re used to having such as “variable++” which is the equivalent of doing “variable = variable + 1”. We find ourselves wanting this all the time, so we’ve implemented it 🙂

However as always with a beta, you may find bugs, so we will be relying on you to report any issues to us in this dedicated forum.

Users who have had issues after upgrading to Firmware v1.23 (Device Disconnecting, Stuck in Programming Mode etc) – Use this Beta to downgrade to v1.22 then upgrade to v1.23 again and that should fix the problem.

Changes since v1.20 Beta 9

  • Fixed some issues with arrays (they should now be working correctly everywhere)
  • Added support for 2 new types of loops: “for” and “do while”, they’re defined like follows:

  • Added a bunch of keywords you can no longer use in your scripts; “const”, “byte”, “char”, “sizeof”, “do” and “for”, the first 4 are used in constructs i’m not ready to document/explain just yet, just don’t use these words as-is and you should be good (they can be used within variable names etc, just not as a specific name)
  • Fixed a bunch of issues with the bit operation functions, they weren’t being handled correctly, they are now 🙂
  • Corrected the precedence rules, they’re as follows: (the higher the operator, the higher it’s value is treated in the compiler)
    • variables, constants, function calls and anything within ( )’s (this is how you clarify what you want to the compiler, if you don’t these rules apply)
    • !, ++, —
    • *, /, %
    • +, –
    • <, <=, >, >=
    • ==, !=
    • &&
    • ^^
    • ||
    • =, +=, -=, *=, %=, /=

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare – Script Game Interface!

Written by News on . Posted in CronusMAX News, News

CronusMAX scripting legend Excalibur has created a brand new S.G.I. Tool (Scripting Game Interface) for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare – and it is the most explosive set of Mod tools ever created for this game and there’s simply way too many to fit into a single GamePack.

S.G.I. is a new system of creating scripts which makes it a lot more flexible and easier to manage than GamePacks giving you complete control over which Mods you’d like to include with full control over the mapping and tuning of each Mod, complete with the full source code so you can share your scripts with the community and fine tune so that they are as accurate to your own personal experience as possible.

A selection of Mods available include Custom Button Layouts, Rapid Fire (Primary & Secondary), Drop Shot, Jump Shot, Side Shot, Scope Shot, Hold Breath, Toggle ADS, Anti-Recoil, Tact Jitter, Alt Jitter, Quick Scope, Sniper Scope, Slide Reload, Akimbo with Dual Easy, Always Run, Aim Assist, Long Jump, Special Ability & More.

You will find complete instructions and support for this tool given directly by the author, Excalibur – on the CronusMAX Community Forums.

Cronus PRO v1.20 BETA 8

Written by News on . Posted in CronusMAX News, News

The Cronus PRO v1.20 BETA has been updated to BETA 8. Here are the changes since v1.20 BETA 7:

  • Fixed some issues with if, else if and else causing incorrect jumps to happen which could potentially cause the VM to crash due to a never ending loop.
  • Added a missing name check for variables, it was possible to declare variables with the same name as constants (both built in and user constants), later on in the script the constant would be prioritized over the variable where applicable (you could give the variable a value but never actually use it directly).

Please post any bugs your encounter in this support topic so we can fix them…

Cronus PRO v1.20 BETA 7

Written by News on . Posted in CronusMAX News, News

The Cronus PRO v1.20 BETA has been updated to BETA 7. Here are the changes since v1.20 BETA 6:

  • Fixed an issue where the exit mode string wouldn’t update properly while running X-Aim
  • Moved GPC Generation to a background thread in MAX Combo making the UI not lock itself while processing all the data…
  • Fixed a bug in the new compiler causing edge values for the 8-bit range (0 – 255 and/or -128 – 127) to trigger a warning about the value being 16-bit (which isn’t true), with this fix i also added the actual value to the warning message to make it a little bit easier to understand what triggered it
  • Fixed a bug causing the unused function warning to always pop up regardless of if the function was used or not
  • Added warnings about unused function arguments and combos
  • Added warnings about unused variables with the following cases:
    • unused – It’s not used anywhere at all (neither assigned a value nor read) – This will be printed even if you use it as a base for array indexes which may or may not be a good thing, let me know what you guys think about that
    • assigned but not used – It’s assigned a value but is never used anywhere (it’s value is never checked/used anywhere)
    • used but not assigned – It’s never assigned a value and will therefor always return 0 as it’s value (this is the default value any variable is given) – NOTE: giving a variable a value when you define it or in the init section counts as assigning it a value, perhaps i should change that behavior and have it tell you when a variable is given a value at startup but never changes…?

Please post any bugs your encounter in this support topic so we can fix them…

Cronus PRO v1.20 BETA 6

Written by News on . Posted in CronusMAX News, News

We’re now releasing this new version of Cronus PRO as a public beta due to the HUGE changes done under the hood, to prevent everyone from having issues and needing a fix like yesterday, we’ve started making larger changes in Beta builds rather than pushing them out as updates for everyone, this allows us to have a smaller group of people affected by bugs so that we can fix them rather than having to deal with a large number of complaints about these issues.

Some of you have likely experienced some random issues and/or completely different behavior from what you’re expecting from your script(s) etc. This should be fixed with this beta as we’ve completely re-written the compiler and the interpreter in a different language. We’ve also decided to swap out the HID library (used to communicate with the CronusMAX PLUS itself).

With all of this re-writing of the major under-the-hood libraries, we’re also able to get rid of the C++ 2010/2015 dependency (we no longer need C++) which, as a result should lead to less issues for people running Cronus PRO on a new PC (some of you may have had issues starting Cronus PRO without manually installing the C++ 2015 Redistributable x86 package).

This Beta has been available to a select few members of our community for a couple of weeks now and we feel we nailed a number of the major bugs, so we’ve now decided to release it for everyone to enjoy. However as always with a beta, you should expect bugs to be present, so we will be relying on you to report any issues to us in this dedicated forum.

  • HID Library completely re-written in C#
  • GPC Interpreter Library completely re-written in C# including the new opcodes – they’re there but not fully functional (Needs A LOT of testing) some changes/fixes made:
    • get_ptime now function correctly and gives you the press or release time of the button
    • get_ptime is no longer limited to 4000 milliseconds, it’s now limited to 32767
    • get_pvar and set_pvar are now functioning properly, they’re however not kept between runs in X-Aim (yet)
  • GPC Compiler Library completely re-written in C# with some additional functions, and lot’s of bugfixes:
    • Added support for ++ and — for variables (variable++ and variable–, not ++variable/–variable)
    • Added support for +=, -=, *=, /= and %= for variable assignments (basically the same as doing: variable = variable <+,-,*,/ or %> <expression>)
    • Added support for 16-bit values in the data section (NOTE: This will issue a warning that any index coming after this will be +1 from it’s original state, that’s because it’s divided into 2 8-bit values before being added to the bytecode)
    • Added support for doing arithmetic operations for constants, you can now do something like:

define value = 1; define value2 = value + 2;

  • Added support for pre-computing constant arithmetics, saving space in the final output (as constant math will be computed at compile time rather then at runtime)
  • Fixed issues with user function returns
  • Fixed issues with empty user functions
  • Removed support for doing “- 1” for example when wanting it to be a negative value (this is considered a syntax error, there should be no space between the minus and the number!), you can still do things like “- CONSTANT” and “-CONSTANT” etc. (and the same for variables, for variables it’s translated to the same as if you did inv(<variable_expression>);
  • Fixed multiple issues with compiled binary data (they would sometimes cause the Virtual Machine running the GPC code to crash – unloading the script)
  • Fixed a issue where doing something like:

function func(idx) {
if (TRUE)
return;
idx = idx*4;
}

  • would result in a syntax error (the idx would become part of the return despite not belonging together)
  • Fixed a issue with how things like var[var] = !var[var]; was compiled which would result in incorrect opcode order
  • Added a check for never ending while loops (constant trigger only) which are now treated as an error (you really shouldn’t do this as it’ll mess up the VM, it’ll get stuck in this and won’t output anything… example:

main {
while (TRUE) { // This will always run, regardless, and due to no break, it'll never leave this
set_val(0, 100);
}
}

  • Added a error line highlight to the code editor (it will now highlight the line that caused an error from the compiler) the default color is red but can be customized in the config (it supports some common names such as “red”, “blue”, “green” etc. and also ARGB annotations: #AARRGGBB (hex, similar to HTML except with the alpha aswell which is the opacity (FF for full color, 80 for semi-transparent)
  • Added support for jumping to the error when trying to compile a script that has an error in it
  • Fixed a issue with Online Library causing titles to not be wrapped correctly
  • Fixed a issue with the search function in Online Library – It will now search specifically for what you type in by default (unless using the new setting below):
  • Added “Advanced Search” to Online Library which lets you override the above fix (restore previous behavior where it does a broad search)
  • Added a “go to” command (Ctrl + G) which lets you jump to line x and column y (or just the line)
  • Fixed a issue where high contrast themes would make it very difficult (even impossible in most cases) to read what is/was displayed in Cronus PRO – it now looks the same regardless of your color settings, the window changes but nothing within Cronus PRO should now change
  • Added a message whenever an unexpected fatal error occurs in Cronus PRO (the error will be saved in %appdata%\Cronus\Error.log, send this to me if you stumble upon a error so i can fix the bug)
  • Added some sanity checks before flashing a firmware/gamepack/GPC script to avoid further firmware corruption issues
  • Added a option to enable/disable Accel/Gyro highlighting in the Device Monitor
  • Fixed a issue where a corrupt x-aim.cfg could potentially crash Cronus PRO (it is now logged and ignored – loading defaults instead)
  • Added a separate compiler instance for x-aim and CM+ use (as they don’t support the same things, the CM+ has additional opcodes/functions not supported by x-aim)
  • Added a visual indicator as to how many {, [ and ( you have compared to }, ] and ) (currently it’s just “OK” or “Bad” with details when you hover over it)
  • Fixed a issue where disconnecting the monitor then clicking a mouse button would make X-Aim exit capture mode NOTE: This fix MAY cause additional false positives in various antivirus software out there…
  • Added support for selecting to download the latest or previous firmware version
  • Fixed a issue where the PS4 Acc/Gyro and Touch wasn’t available while using X-Aim
  • Fixed a issue where Xbox 360 remap profiles wouldn’t generate GPC properly in MAX Mapper

Please post any bugs your encounter in this support topic so we can fix them…

This beta can only be used for 30 days after it has been released, meaning it’ll stop working after December 7

Cronus PRO v1.12 and CronusMAX PLUS v1.22 Firmware Update

Written by News on . Posted in CronusMAX News, News

The Call of Duty® World League were presented with some challenges as their tournaments are exclusively PS4 and all controllers are Bluetooth. One huge room, a couple hundred controllers – as you can imagine, it wasn’t pretty.

We were approached to help solve this problem because one of the unique abilities of the CronusMAX PLUS, is that it can fully bypass the Bluetooth of a DualShock 4 and connect a stock wireless controller as wired, via a USB cable. As this feature was not currently available from Sony®, the CronusMAX PLUS was the perfect solution to make sure the events could still take place without any problems.

However, after the first couple of tournaments a number of Pro Players complained of minor to severe lag. We attributed this to the fact that many of the devices hadn’t been configured correctly for the PS4, that some were setup different than others. This would account for the variations in lag experience – however there really shouldn’t have been any lag at all. We’ve had Cronus in Pro Tournaments before (for example Comic Con 2015 in London had a great MKX event – all the Xbox One’s had a CronusMAX and the Pro’s loved it).  Given the amount of feedback we were receiving, and somewhat brutal pushback from various social media channels, we couldn’t ignore that there had to be a problem. So we have spent the last couple of weeks on the workbench, liaising with Activision® to make sure they knew that the Pro Players voices had been heard and we were doing everything in our power to first find the problem and then to solve it – before the Call of Duty® XP 2016 Championships started on September 2nd.

After a thousand cups of coffee, we discovered a remarkably obscure anomaly in the code that did indeed cause a very small but noticeable amount of lag, at random times and at random lengths. It’s testament to how good these Pro Players actually are that after all this time it went unnoticed, because the second they played it was spotted instantly.

The speed of the controller will now match the console 1:1. It’s been tested by many Pro Players via Activision® and they unanimously agree that the problem has been 100% solved. This really was a tough problem folks, however we do appreciate the good amount of constructive feedback that we received from the Pro Community (even though some of it was brutal!) We’re happy that we managed to nail this one in time for Champs – hopefully you guys are happy too as it will benefit ALL CronusMAX users. Some comments from the Pro Players who on the beta test program….

“This is 100% better, feels like there’s no CronusMax plugged in which is the main goal!”

“Definitely feels a lot better if any delay at all. Thank you.”

“Only used these settings in a FFA and feel much much Better”

“Feels a lot better good job”

“These settings definitely feel a lot better than before.”

“I wouldn’t even know the Cronus was being used – amazing difference!”

If the CronusMAX PLUS is good enough for the Pro Gamers at the World Championships, it’s good enough for all gamers.

We also rolled in a bunch of other new features and fixes into this release including adding Logitech Driving Force GT support to the PS4 Wheel Edition – with full Force Feedback Support.

I would also like to reiterate, after seeing some comments on social media channels, when in Tournament Mode, it is 100% impossible to use any mods or scripts to gain any kind of advantage. The CronusMAX PLUS is being provided and configured by the event organizers and will display the letter ‘t’ on the LCD screen to indicate that it is in Tournament Mode.

  • Fixed Remaps where Xbox 360 was set as the output.
  • Xbox One Elite Paddle labels now highlight in Device Monitor.
  • Filename no longer forces to “Cronus.exe”.
  • X-AIM is now forced to be the top most window which fixes focus drop out issues that some users were having, along with a full screen overlay which can be adjusted with a variable in X-Aim.cfg (OverlayOpacity=75) – 100 being Black.
  • Device Options Speed Up Settings Hover Descriptions updated (Inframe Out no longer Experimental and recommended for all controllers, as well as Inframe In and 1ms)
  • DS4 BT Boost is now solely for BlueTooth/Wireless. It can be disabled when using a USB cable.
  • All links and references to controllermax have now being changed to cronusmax

As an extra bonus, the Logitech G920 beta code was added too, however at this time there is no Force Feedback support and it’s not been tested a great deal – but feel free to have a play and post feedback to the forums.

So what’s the PS4 Wheel Edition?

PS4 Wheel Edition

The all new PS4 Wheel Edition is a brand new system for Logitech G25 and G27 racing wheels on the PS4 console using the CronusMAX PLUS.

The wheel is now detected by the game as an actual wheel and not a gamepad (specifically a Logitech G29 Wheel), giving tight, smooth, precise control and for the first time ever…..FULL FORCE FEEDBACK SUPPORT! Also includes full support for Gas, Brake and Clutch pedals and 6 Speed Shifter.

The Force Feedback feature is absolutely stunning. Feel your tires on every turn and type of terrain, sense under and oversteer drifting and more. With the PS4 Wheel Edition, you are also no longer required to have your computer connected to the console at all times!

You will never want to race with a regular controller again.

Recommended PS4 Games:

  • Project CARS
  • Drive Club
  • F1 2015
  • Dirt Rally
  • WRC 5: FIA World Rally Championship

How does it work?

It’s really very simple. You connect the two controllers to a compatible USB hub, plug in the USB Hub’s cable into the CronusMAX PLUS and then plug the CronusMAX PLUS into the console. Yup – that’s it.

The CronusMAX PLUS is in PS4 Wheel Edition Mode and waiting for the USB Hub & Controllers….

The controller is authenticated and you’re ready to race!

Then simply connect a DualShock 4 controller (via micro USB cable) and the Logitech G25/G27 racing Wheel to the USB Hub as per the instructions, then connect the USB Hub to the CronusMAX PLUS.

When you power cycle the PS4, the controller will automatically authenticate – the LED on the CronusMAX PLUS will change to 0, the wheel will calibrate itself – then you just sit back and race!

What about the Xbox One Elite Controller Paddle Support?

Xbox One Elite Controller Support inc Paddle Scripting

This is another much requested feature from our community. Normally you would have to use the Xbox One console, or the Xbox One App from the Windows Store to setup the paddles on your Elite controller. Not any more! You can now map your paddles using our own GPC scripting engine straight out of the box without the need to use any other tools or complicated setups.

Not only can you map your paddles to any buttons, triggers or analog sticks, but you can also map them to combos, macros or mods – the possibilities are endless!

Yet another incredible release from CronusMAX, None of this would be possible without your continued support and loyalty to our product. We also have some great GamePacks in the pipeline, and our team of engineers are working on some really exciting new products ready for this Holiday Season and 2017.
