    For your Information:
Today i tried new Firmware 299 for the fanatec CSW 2, that comes with the fanatec windows Driver v289.
This produces an [E] error on the cronus MAX when connecting(...yes on a supported Hub only and CSW2 was in ps3 mode ). And i am using FW 1.24 WE on the cronus MAX.
Returned to Firmware 204 (Fanatec windows Driver v261) and everything is OK again.

I saw ads from cmax plus v3, is that different on hardware side than mine which is "sku210, latest 2016 retail version" bought 25.9.2016 or just updated with newer firmware?

Or on the other hand does it have something which justify its buying compared to earlier version.

You can compare the CronusMAX devices here http://cronusmax.com/manual/model_history.htm

I'll have to give it a try on my v2 as well if I can fish it out of storage >_<

Thanks for letting us know the issue!

Same issue with firmware 299 on Fanatec CSW v2. Firmware 204 works great.

Are there any chances to support CSW v2.5 on PS4?

Yes, I think I have exactly the same issue.

    My Setup:
    - CRONUSMAX Plus V3 - Firmware 1.24
    - Fanatec CSW Base V2 - Firmware 299
    - Fanatec Porsche 918 RSR rim
    - PS4 pro
    - Dual Shock Controller (both, V1 and V2)

    This is my workflow:

Step <1>: Set Wheel Base to PS3 mode (indicated by the small dot)
    Attachment 3977

Step <2>: Forget the controller and set communication mode to USB cable
    Attachment 3976

Step <3>: Setup the USB / HUB connections according to the manual
    Attachment 3978

Step <4>: Connect USB HUB with the Cronusnmax Plus V3
    Attachment 3979

Step <5>: Connect Cronusmax Plus V3 with my PS4 pro
    Attachment 3980

Here you can see the error message:

It would be great if the Cronusmax Crew could fix it. So many thanks in advance!

Just for those who are interested in the changes in FW299 compared to FW204:

    Changes:

    • CSL Elite Racing Wheel - officially licensed for PS4™ is fully supported
    • New firmwares included:
      - CSW V1 Base : CSW_Base_V300_rev1047_app
      - CSW V2 Base : CSW_V2_Base_V299_rev1046_app
      - CSW V2.5 Base : CSW_V2_5_Base_V298_rev1044_app
      - CSL E Base : CSL_E_W_Base_V296_rev1042_app
      - CSL E Base PS4 : CSL_E_PS4_Base_V297_rev1043_app => Newer than the FW on retail units. Recommeded to be installed!
      - EBLDC (CSW V2.5 / CSL PS4 Motor Driver): EBLDC_V18_rev162_app
    • Wheel bases do now remember the mode in which mode it was used.
      -
If you are using a CSW V2 (or CSW V2.5, CSL E WB) with UHX in PC mode
and you restart the wheel it will boot directly into the PC mode again
      - Same goes for the CSL E PS4. It will remember if you used PC, PS4 or the compatibility mode.
    • Updated UWP support on all wheels for Forza Games in Windows 10
    • Fixed issue that control panel does not open
    • DEA
and LIN has been removed from the tuning menu (it has been evaluated
that those settings are not used by most customers and only confuse most
      users)
    • Spring effects have been optimized (be aware that you only benefit from this change IF a game/simulation uses spring effects)
    • Spring
effect scaling using SPR in the tuning menu (be aware that you only
benefit from this change IF a spring effect is used/activated by a
      game/simulation)
    • CSL PS4 firmware corrections
      - handbrake issues fixed
      - shifter SQ mode fixed

    Cheers,

    Re: Fanatec wheel support

    Hello.

I purchased the Cronusmax Plus several months ago and was able to get it to work with my Fanatec CSW and CSL P1 wheel. I just got F1 2017 and wanted to play it. The Cronusmax is not working anymore. I keep getting the "E."
I have the PS4 controller plugged into port 4 of the usb hub with a full data cable, the Fanatec is plugged into port 4, the Cronusmax is updated to 1.24 firmware and is configured for PS4 as supported by "racetrack" lights. The fanatec is in PS3 mode (blue light ring). Earlier in the evening the Cronusmax would be showing the 0 for a few seconds but then the PS4 controller would shut off and turn back on.

Any help is more than appreciated.

Sounds like the controller isn't fully unpaired/connected via USB properly. DS4 controllers can tend to have loose connections at their terminal, check to make sure the controller is authenticating but not functional while using PS4 wheel mode.

    Re: Fanatec wheel support

FW299 is not compatible with how the crossover signals are translated.

Simply downgrade to FW204, that still works perfectly fine. I'll update the manual accordingly.
