![]() Set the Output Protocol to AUTOMATIC. (IMPORTANT - If not set to AUTOMATIC then the controller will disconnect every 10 minutes).
You can also enable Automatic DualShock 3 Bluetooth pairing if you wish.
The recommended Speed Up Settings when using a DualShock 3 Controller with a Bluetooth 4.0 USB Adapter are as above - you can choose to tweak with them if you have any issues. If you have a slower Bluetooth adapter or experience any issues with rumble then you should try different 'Rumble Over Bluetooth' speed settings. You have the alternative options of Flow Control+, Flow Control and Disabled.

![]() We also recommend you select the 'Mimic Controller Player LEDs' option if you have CronusMAX PLUS v3 device. This is especially useful if you plan on using our GamePacks.
You can now close the Options window.

The CronusMAX PLUS has now paired your DualShock 3 controller with your Bluetooth USB Adapter.
![]() Disconnect your DualShock 3 Controller from the CronusMAX PLUS and unplug the Mini-USB Cable from it. You can also disconnect the CronusMAX PLUS from your PC.
If your DualShock 3 remains powered (The player LED's are lit or flashing), press and hold the PS button on the controller for 30 seconds or until the LED's turn off. |
Some USB Hubs prefer the Cross Over controller to be on Port 3, just make sure that when you power cycle the console that the CronusMAX PLUS completely shuts down (No LED) and doesn't sit in standby mode (Spinning Animation LED), otherwise on reboot the authorization won't work correctly. Note: To correctly shut down the console, usb hub and CronusMAX PLUS, power cycles must be done from the console, not the controller.

The Authentication controller will be disabled. It will not vibrate and none of it's controls will interefere with your Crossover experience. It can safely be left sitting idle on a surface as if it was turned off. If the LED on the CronusMAX PLUS does not change from AU to a number then the authorization controller is not authenticating. 99% of the time, this means either you didn't set the Output Protocol to AUTOMATIC in Step 1 of the instructions, or the Micro-USB cable to the controller is faulty or simply not compatible, you should try another one. Another issue that sometimes comes up is that the controller USB port has a loose data pin. It will charge fine, but won't transmit data. Also make sure the controller is powered on of course - that's a rookie mistake. If you find that the controller disconnects at random times, and you are sure everything is setup correctly, then the USB cable is obviousley losing its connection between the authorization controller and the CronusMAX. This can be caused by a poor quality USB cable, the USB socket on the authorization controller itself is loose, or the USB hub you are using is poor quality. Check all connections and replace any parts if necessary. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi devices use the same radio frequencies to communicate, they often interfere with one another and are prone to interference from other devices operating on the same frequencies. If you are experiencing lag with your wireless controller, even though you have tried different Speed Up Settings in the Device Options panel, there is a good chance you have a WiFi Router that is causing interference. We have found that routers such as Apple's Airport Express have this problem and you should make sure that the router is not in close proximity to your CronusMAX/Bluetooth Adapter. You should also try changing the WiFi Router Channel to optimize your wireless signal. Click Here for more information on how to do that. We also recommend that you Click Here to check out an article that looks at the effects of such interference, what causes it and how to reduce it in a home or office environment.
